Happy Easter!

As we remember Jesus Christ’s resurrection three days after his crucifixion, I want to wish each and every one of you a very blessed Easter holiday.

The Easter tradition of coloring Easter eggs dates back to the 13th century. The early church prohibited believers from consuming eggs during Holy Week.

Obviously, chickens continued to lay eggs during this period.

So people started referring to these as Holy Week eggs and began decorating them. The eggs became a representation of the resurrection, symbolizing rebirth and Christ’s emergence from the tomb. Orthodox Christians paint their eggs red to symbolize Christ’s blood, which was shed on the cross.
