Duck, Duck, Jeep!

My wife and I are both Jeep owners.

They aren’t the classic Wranglers. Nor are they the problematic Gladiators (that we, honestly, used to want).

No, we both own different styles of Jeep SUVs. But they are still Jeeps.

When we bought the vehicles, no one provided us with the Jeep Rule Book™ (if such a book even exists). We were sent into the wild by our respective dealerships and thrown into Jeep culture.

I recently found an article from MotorTrend that I wish I had been given a copy of when I bought my Jeep.

The Jeep Wave Explained: Are You Doing It Wrong?” provides an overview of the Jeep Wave’s history and the hierarchy within the family. And, yes, it talks about ducking.

My wife has been ducked by Jeep fans three times: once a few years ago (which she keeps on her dashboard), once by me (thanks to a duck I found at Buc-Ee’s earlier this year) and a third time on a recent trip to visit her granddaughter (who got to keep the duck).

Now me? Zero. Zilch. Nada.

That’s right, my primo red ride, which has taken me countless miles on road trips and photo assignments, is duckless.

I’m not saying I’m jealous or anything, but I’m not feeling the love from my fellow Jeepsters.
