We’re proud parents again! (Well, sort of…)

I looked out the kitchen window Monday and noticed a disturbance in the side yard. Being a naturally curious person, I took a quick stroll outside to see what was going on.

Much to my surprise, I discovered it was a rabbit nest and there were three young bunnies hiding amongst the grass clippings and fur from their mother.

After work, I went over to the local hardware big box store and bought some wood stakes and caution tape to mark off the area around the next because my mower is scheduled to come later this week, and I didn’t want him accidentally running over the nest.

I walked out there again during my Tuesday lunch break and got a better view of the bunnies. They had moved away from the fur pile and worked closer to the edge of the area I had roped off.

I went back out there this morning and the bunnies were gone. I’m glad I got to see the three new lives up close and personal and am looking forward to seeing them around the property as they grow up and get bigger.
