On this data, WAAAAAAAAY back in 1990, Adobe Photoshop version 1.0 was released.
If memory serves me correctly, I started using Photoshop on version 3 at Indiana University.
It’s amazing how this one piece of software has transformed visual communication—both for the good and evil.
Today, I use Photoshop—or its “cousin” Lightroom—consistently when editing every photo I deliver to a client or publish online.
Yet, I still take those lessons learned decades ago in the darkroom printing photographs under dark red illumination and apply those same principles to the Photoshop family of tools.
It’s no different from transitioning from a manual screwdriver to a battery-operated one. The technology has changed, but the basic principles are still there.
So happy birthday, old friend. Here’s to many more years of working together.
