How Does Kodak Make Film?

As a follow-up to last week’s post about the history of the Eastman Kodak Company, I stumbled across a three-part video series from the Smarter Every Day video series asking the singular question, “How does Kodak make film?”

I have just started watching this video series (it is almost three hours of content spread across three YouTube videos). Here is a link to each of the videos:

I am looking forward to making the time to watch the entire video series. From what I have seen, it is very insightful and educational. Especially when you consider that the film-making process must be done in complete darkness once the light-sensitive chemicals have been placed on the emulsion.

The amount of science that goes into something as innocent-looking as a roll of film is, in my eyes, an engineering marvel.
