I grabbed the camera gear—including the big glass—and headed to Dillon Park to photograph the Alice Drive Baptist Church softball game last night.
It felt good to be back behind the lens shooting a sporting event. That is one of the things I have missed since moving to South Carolina. (Back in Indiana, I freelanced as a sports correspondent for one of Gannett’s community newspapers.)
The big lens allows me to photograph batters from just beyond the outfield fence, giving people a different view of the game than shooting through the fence along either the first- or third-base line.
