Close-Up Photographer of the Year

The British organization IFL Science published its award for Close-Up Photographer of the Year earlier today.

The site doesn’t have a lot of images published online, but what is there is admirable and jaw-dropping.

The featured photo for this post is from Simon Theuma, the winner of the underwater category. It is a Commensal shrimp floating above a colorful (and aptly named) Mosaic seastar. Stunning!

Please take a few minutes to scroll through this site and admire the beauty of the world that normally goes unnoticed.
