First round of shipments

Well, the first shipments of new camera gear arrived today. The first thing to arrive was a pair of SanDisk 128GB Extreme PRO SDXC cards for the new camera body. I unpacked them—and the other non-photo related items from the order—and set them on my desk until later.

Shipment number two contained some extra batteries for the new camera. I ended up with a two-pack of batteries and a USB-powered charger which was highly rated online. I got those unboxed, plugged in the charger, popped on the batteries and began the charging process. Like a lot of spare camera batteries, these include a plastic protective case to cover the contacts when in storage or floating around a pocked of my camera bag.

The third, and final shipment for the day, was the classic black and yellow box with the Nikon logo on it. Yes, the new camera body—the Nikon Z6 II—had made its journey to my hands. I removed the Nikon box from the shipping box and set it aside. Tonight, I had other priorities to do around the house and will begin the process of unboxing and familiarizing myself with the new camera.

NOTE: You should know that I am not investing in new mirrorless lenses to accompany the camera body. So I am at a bit of a standstill until next week when the lens adapter arrives in the fourth—and final—shipment to complete the equipment upgrade. In the interim, I plan to begin investigating the menus and controls to see what is different from my current DSLR bodies.
