Sunflowers at Sunrise

So I did a thing this morning.

For what may be one of the last times in my life, I pulled an all-nighter prepping camera gear and getting some work done in the home office.

Why, do you ask?

A sunrise photo session with hundreds upon thousands of sunflowers.

I hoped to get some glorious golden light as the sun rose above the many pine trees across the street from the field.

Instead, the sun revealed a mostly cloudy sky as the color of the sunflowers was slowly and majestically revealed.

I probably spent an hour or so traipsing through knee-high weeds looking at and photographing the flowers.

The morning ended as fatigue started to settle in.

What’s a guy to do after such a start to the day? Drive to the nearest coffee shop, get some caffeine in the system, and plan an afternoon lunch.

Editing photos? Those can come a bit later.

UPDATE: I did an initial edit of the images. Just played around with trying to capture my vision in what the camera captured. Here are a few of my favorites.
